The logbook abstract of the brig Saucy Jack details a shipping voyage from Salem, Mass., to Cayenne, French Guiana, June 1813-May 1814. The abstract does not continue while in port. The brig's home port was Salem; the logbook keeper was William Osgood.

William E. Osgood was born in N.H. in 1926. He had completed four years of high school and was working as a professional driver when he was inducted into the Army in 1944 at Ft. Devens, Mass. Osgood volunteered for the ski troops through the National Ski Patrol System. He was stationed at Camp Swift, Tex. and in Italy where he was assigned to the 87th Infantry Regiment, Company C.
